Well, here is what I spent the whole day doing. My jeep came from the PO with an SOA setup already installed. Best I can tell it had CJ rear springs all the way around, and they were in pretty sorry shape, with the driver side rear sagging almost 4" lower than the other 3 corners. After days spent perusing forums and looking at what other people had done, I purchased the BDS 2" yj springs. I got these because I was worried that Stock YJ springs might be TOO soft. Now I am kind of wishing that I had gotten the stockers because this thing is starting to get ridiculously tall. If I were an inch shorter than 6'2" I think I might need a step ladder to get in the silly thing. Oh well, for my intended purposes which are mud, moderate trail running, and posing at the mall I guess they will work. I also cut and ground off the rear perches, and installed new ones, and reclocked the pinion in anticipation of a CV rear drive shaft. Here are a few pics with the new springs, no body lift & tires are 36x12.50 for reference.

Thats looking pretty good! I working on going back to SOA on mine, just on 38s.

Looking Good.

Too tall for my taste. Around here we have trails that put you off camber to the downhill side, and the downhill side is a 400 ft cliff. Makes one wish they were in a really low vehicle.

When you start having rear drive shaft problems due to axle wrap from the BDS springs, don't give up on the SOA. You just have the wrong springs to control the rear axle rotation. I have an SOA suspension on my '77 CJ5 but I ordered custom engineered leaf springs for the rear that are engineered specifically for my Jeep layout and designed with a special leaf added to the top of the pack that its only purpose is to control axle wrap. It works! Look up Alcan Springs on the web. Good stuff. You won't have any issues with the front.
