Spark Plug Gap

I just upgraded from the old MotorCraft style ignition to a HEI distributer w/ a 50,000 volt coil . My plugs are gapped @ .35, how much of a gap can I go to now. I am guess somewhere beteween .40 and .45. Oh yea, I did use the gear off the stock distributer because of the troubles I heard of on this forum, thanks

I would go .01 over normal and see how it runs.

Most HEI's run .045 gap.
