Hey y'all I'm sorry I've been a question freak lately. I've been working on the jeep for about two months now and I'm finally closing in on the finish line. So the problem is I have movement at highway speeds (55-65mph) I took the hubs apart and got down to the base. My question is I have movement in the spindle the part farthest left with the grooves. It also moves what is connected to the u joint. This is my last fix and I will finally be able to drive her without something else going wrong hopefully. Any advice would be greatly appreciated. These are the pictures I got and even a small video. https://vimeo.com/102370163

That's the axle stub. Some play(side to side and in & out)is normal.
You should remove the spindle so you can get to the bearing that the axle stub runs on, to service it.
Stop lay'n your parts on the ground-Very easy to lose'em!
Also-Put a piece of cardboard under the spindle to catch the crud.
What's the pipe wrench for?

I used the monkey wrench to pop off the nut on top of the steering knuckle. How do I remove it? Is that why I get the wobble? I replaced all tie rods and linkage so I'm assuming this is the last thing I can replace

WHY did you remove upper BJ nut?
Hope you have the socket and torque wrench to re-install.
To remove the spindle, just smack the spindle with a section of 2x4 wood to loosen it.
You need to buy the correct tools--;)
Pipe wrench='Bubba' type work.
You MUST get a copy of the REAL factory service manual. That Haynes you have is much lacking in detail!

Hahaha getting picked apart for the better lol. I appreciate it. I do have the torque wrench and I completely understand the bubba work is not good lol. So I'm hitting towards the engine? Do I need to remove the u joint? Sorry for the noob questions.

Only if it shows any play.
Before you dug into the front end. Did you have the front end ck'd by a alignment shop.
It sounds to me you may have a caster issue and a toe-in problem.
You can set toe-in easy. Caster is a bit more work.
PLEASE-get that REAL, FSM! Best money you could spend now!!

I will I'll find one! Yes I did had the front end aligned today before I started playing trying to fix the play

 you had the front end aligned and they didn't say anything was wrong with it? Normally they will let you know of any problems because they check everything.

To remove the spindle my way:

Place wood, a 2x4 will work on the spindle surface, I like the side, smack the wood with a BFH (hammer) a few times, go to the other side and do the same. Look closely at the flat or flange at the back of the spindle. You should see a small separation there, stick a screw driver blade in the crack. Take the wood to the other side and give it a couple more hits. A similar crack or separation will appear, stick another screw driver in there ....... keep doing that and your spindle will work itself out eventually becoming loose enough to wiggle it by hand, wiggle and pull it off. The bearings will be inside the spindle.

There are other places to look for a steering wobble. Have you looked at the steering rod universal joint next to the fire wall? A small movement here becomes a large wobble at the wheel. At the other end of the steering rod there is a coupler. It's an odd old fashioned affair that can bring a wobble into the system. Then there are the steering box gears...... and more.

That was amazing! I don't think I have a steering box but I could be wrong. Located on fire wall or underneath bumper? Thanks again for the guidance

Have your wheels ck'd for a bend and have them balanced.
Post the specs from the alignment shop.

:)
So did they check the Castor on the front end? and if so what did there report state? Needs to be about 5-7 degrees positive..........meaning the top of the knuckle has to be leaning back about 5-7 degrees.........and when you took off the ball joint nut did you disturb the pre-load adjuster below that?

One thing at a time in fixing bad steering...........check all your systems from the steering wheel to the lug nuts for play and looseness , takes two people.....one moving the wheel and one watching.........everything is on a 1:1 ratio.

:D:D:D:D

My uncle came over and helped me remove everything. Said the ball joints are shot and some bearings are gone. So I'm off to replacing that after work today.

Replaced both upper and lower ball joints on both sides. And wheel beatings and races. Still some wobbling. So I'm gonna take it in tomorrow for another front end alignment I think.

so I got another front end alignment today and it definitely drives better but was still shaking I took of the front drive shaft since I had out a new on. And it still is shaking. I'm loosing confidence and am close to giving up. Could it be bad shocks or bad leave springs?

It could be a bad tire. I bought a used set of snow tires from a tire store once and when I left there it was fine until I got to about 45 mph and it felt like the rear was going to fall out. They looked fine.
