So beck when I was in the Navy in the late 90's I acquired an '83 CJ7 . Bought it stock from and OC yuppie. Over a few years I did a few mods. Lifted, 33's, ARB's, eventually a TPI 350/700R4, lots of goodies. Body was in great shape. just a few little rust spots, but it buffed up fairly nicely after a weekend with the buffer.

Here she is in about 2001.

When I got out of the Navy, I had no money, so I sold her to a friend, and been unhappy about that ever since. After getting settled into new career, house etc, I picked up an '03 Rubicon. Had it for a few years, but it wasn't the same. So off it went.

Last week I found an '85 on Craigslist up by my folks place. Looked pretty clean. Road trip to MN to see the folks and look at the Jeep. Took it for a test drive, and it passed muster. Bought it on the spot for $3500.

Some Details: 1985 CJ7 . AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l /T-5 /Dana 300 . Dana 30 /AMC20 . Almost Stock everything. No lift. Not abused. Full hard top and doors. Some body rust, but nothing through. frame is in great shape. Just some very minor surface rust starting.

Drove it into town, put it on a haul trailer and pulled it home to KS.
