SS won't stick!

So I'm trying to weld some SS items together,,,

I can form a nice puddle but damn! When I dip the rod it just floats! Pissing me off!

160 HZ, pulse at 3,

That shouldn't matter with DC. I tried different rods but same results. Am I just not hot enough?

Using ss rods. I'll give the compost in a bit. I'm just a bit mad!

Arc welding stainless without the rod sticking is very hard. Once you get it going don't stop. No matter how far you weld with the rod throw it out. It forms a very hard shell on the end of the rod from the flux. Try 301 rods
