so my 82 CJ7 has a stablizer bar up front, everyone says it's completely useless because of the leaf packs. should i just take it off or does it actually make a difference?

Not sure who you've been talking to but it sure does make a difference to minimize body roll. Low speed crawling many use quick disconnects.

All depends what you are using yours for. DD or off road only etc.

I agree with 73CJ here, just get some disconnects for off road crawing.

I use JKS quick disconnects. I also installed a stiffer stabilizer bar to help with body roll in cornering with disconnects hooked up. Factory is 7/8", aftermarket is 1 1/8" diameter. I would not drive my Jeep on road without them. With lift it really leans disconnected.

thanks for the info guys i'll take it off and see how it handles. it wont be a DD but will be on road more than offroad

what aftermarket sway bar did you use? i have a 4" lift and i've seen the addco but it says you can you disconnects on it?

I took my swaybar off years ago and threw it in the garbage. :D
Of course, this was with the addition of lift springs which are inherently stiffer then stock springs.
With the springs Im running now, I notice the body roll more, but the springs are softer and my COG is a little higher. I just re-learned how to drive my Jeep, no problem.

I used the Addco sway bar, and you can use the stock links. I am using JKS quick disconnects. The Addco bar ends are the same as the stock bar.
