hey guys i have a 1979 jeep CJ7 258bbl QuadraTrac . OK I am having problems with my jeep stalling when coming out of 1st gear I have to feather the pedal so it doesn't stall on me any ideas? Maybe a problem with the vacuum lines? i rebuilt the carb so I don't think thats the problem. And do the transmissions in the quads need to be cleaned (screens, etc..) Any help appreciated. TIA

tHe stock carbs suck put a webber on it and get more power.

or a motorcraft 2100

The stock carb worked when it was new and should work now. Did you have the problem before the carb rebuild? Maybe it is a problem with a vacuum leak. Not sure. Maybe someone else will chime in.
I assume you have an automatic.

is it happening when it is cold or hot or both??

it always does it cold or hot and yes its an automatic. all the emission controls are removed so im having a bit of a problem with the vacuum diagram lol i guess ill have to figure it out somehow

I have the same problem with my 85 CJ7 , when I stop I slip it into neutral so it will not not stall. Let me know if you have any suggestions as to what could be the problem.

there is a valve that controls vacuum and is related to the Transmission . I think it is called a Modulator valve? if it is not hooked up, not hooked up right, not working, it will cause problems. You now know everything I know about automatic transmissions.
