steering column cover.

Hey guys I am reassemling my 74 CJ5 and when I was painting the dash I was trying to find the piece that bolted to both sides of the steering column opening the only problem is Im not quite sure what im looking for. the piece looks like it uses four 1/4 inch bolts two on either side of the column opening of the dash. I know that cjs in the later seventies used a plastic cover but this looks like it would be different. If anyone has any ideas it would be greatly appreciated and pics would be awesome!

The piece you are looking for was welded on the original column. It was part of the mounting of the column. Someone might have put a different one in. Put on a pic, then we can tell.

Thanks that makes sense. It is a column from what appears to be a mid eighty's chevrolet g van so that would explain it. I have an aftermarket fiberglass tub as well and It looks like the column isnt gonna line up perfectly with the dash so I suppose Ill just make a cover later to cover up the oops. I dont remember it looking as bad as It appears its going to be but I guess ill wait until im to that point and dress it up then
