So tell me what Im not getting. Just put in used steering column, all the way to the box, now the top of the wheel is at the bottom when the wheels are straight ahead. Could I have effed something up, the way I see it, there is only 1 way to bolt the shaft to the box, and only 1 way to mount the wheel to the column, right? Do I just need to realign the wheel using the adjusting sleeve by the pitman arm?

I think you are right, on both points. I don't see how you could have done anything to be 180 out and the only adjustment I know of is the drag link.

:)First off what type of column or car model did this come out of?
Being a 180 degrees out tells me it just needs to be pulled apart and rotated a 1/2 turn and plugged back in! A picture would be helpful of the column where it enters the engine compartment and whatever shaft you have going forward to the steering gear..........do you have two universals along that route? Are the connections splined or the double d type collapsible shaft.............

:D:D:D:D

your right!! flip the DD and it is good.:bang:

Yeah I get that. I guess I wasn't thinking that since I took the column out of, what I thought was a pretty stock, unmolested 85 jeep cj. It's hard for me to believe that it was driven like that for any length of time, it would annoy the hell outta me!!! Thanks for your help
