anybody have any diagrams for how to put the horn assembly, and all in a CJ7 column. I replaced some parts in my column today an I'm sure I didn't put it back together right because the wheel wont lock now and the blinker switch doesn't click off after you turn. I think that I didn't put that retaining ring on right. Help.

Do you have a service manual?? they are in there.

check out my pics for comparison they may help.....few things it could be...that could happen if some screws are too tight or things left out like the spring
which mine is yellow in this pic... the goldish coppperish tip at the 11 o'clock position is the steering wheel lock, make sure all 4 screws on the turn signal are snug not tight using hand tools.

putting it back together....as you loosen the compression tool you will know if the ring is wrong (the spring pushes back and compresses the ring in the groove)
but it kinda sounds like something is not in its place and putting the signal in a bind......
i have worked on some where it was as simple as the hazard screw was too tight cracking the turn signal , the "rack" was off "time", there were parts bouncing around inside....etc

i think there is a diagram on one post maybe about a month ago

See if this helps
