Steering help

I'm new to everything that has to do with fixing Jeeps. My dad let me have a CJ7 which I've fixed the engine to the best that I can. What I'm having trouble with is the steering. I can't drive it without it moving all over the place. The steering wheel has too much play. What can it be? Do I need to replace the steering column? Help please.
