Has anyone installed the steering linkage upgrade (tie rod and steering rod with heavy duty ball joints) that is usually offered by the aftermarkets for about $175? Was wondering how good the quality of this system is and wanted to get some input before I buy this.

Yes I did major improvement. I also did the ball joints at the same time and a PSC steering box.

Man, that is the cleanest wheel assembly I've ever seen!

I don't think mines ever been that clean.

I made my own tie rod and draglink out of 1 1/4" DOM, with new ends it still cost me about $130.(and about 2 hours work) So at $175 they are a pretty good deal.
IMO if you are going to off road the cj I would flip them to get them up out of the way while your at it.

I am going to flip them when i do the OME lift. As for clean this jeep was in arizona since day one. It was a 2 owner car. One being an old man that towed it behind his RV. 100k on the clock

Thanks for your reply to my thread andyt. I take it you didn't have any clearance issues between the linkage and your ARB diff cover right? Who's knuckle ball joints did you install? Did you upgrade the steering gear bracket? I put in a bracket from Rock Tite Metal Fab. Inc. A great part, but did have to do a few mods. to the bracket to get it to fit.

Warrior steering box brace and Currie sterring box support. PSC steering box, Rugged Ridge rods and links. MOOG ball Joints. Flaming River steering shaft. No issue with the ARB clearance
