Installed new turn signal switch today, coming off was easy and took pictures so i wouldn't screw anything up. But somewhere along the line I deleted a few pics off my stupid phone. So I was wondering if anyone had pics of the parts.
Switch is in but I have 4 (thrust) washers and don't remember if the go b4 spring or after. Got so:censored: I did TFI upgrade so I could cool down.

Any help would be appreciated 85 CJ7 with tilt wheel.

Thanks CJ that is a newer style although similar. I found a parts break down and it only shows 1 washer. No matter how hard I tried with the lock plate tool pushing down I couldn't make it to the lock ring groove even after I deleted one washer. Trying not to crank down to hard noticed lock plate was starting to tweak. Only downfall with that tool it rides the very outside edge of plate that flexes.

This is the order I show
1. steering wheel nut
2. washer
3. lockplate cover
4. steering shaft snapring
5. lockplate
6. retainer
7. horn contact pin
8. spring
9. canceling cam
10. uppep bearing preload spring
11. thrust washer
12. turn sigal switch screw
13. turn signal switch
I hope this helps

Thanks Mtnwhlr! That's what I've seen on some old pics on the net but there blurry. Yeah only looks like 1 washer between preload spring and bearing. Don't get it had 4 washers stacked together I remember that. All the parts I took out I put in a container so nothing gets lost or added. Just seems odd that the spring rides directly against the plastic housing of turn signal canceling cam??

I know but try it that way I have done mine and that is they way I think it went.

Thanks again. Will try it minus the extra washers tomo. Still don't understand how it was in there and came out easy only changed turn signal switch. OH WELL!

Well I eliminated 3 washers and it's in. I did find another project, Set up the steering wheel straight! I guess the best way would be to undo steering shaft at steering box:dunno:

No it's splined and it will only go on one way. But that rod that comes of of it is adjustable.
