1978 CJ7 fully restored from ground up. AMC 304,T150,Dana 20 stock diff
I'm fresh done with a full restoration of a 78 CJ7 , it's a beautiful thing but I'm wondering what I can do with the steering. I'm not a rock crawler type guy yet, but I think the steering can be a little more stable. I did upgrade the steering shaft with a borgeson with the needle bearings. But with that said, I feel at speeds around 60mph she gets a little squirley. Any suggestions on what I can do to be more stable. Running a 2.5" pro comp suspension lift with 33" wheels and of course the front steering stabilizer.

Check your caster, lifts with longer than stock shackles reduces or eliminates caster.

What size are your shackles, stock are about 3" bolt to bolt. Any longer can effect steering, and ride stability. Like the other guys said crack castor, shocks, springs, all of it. You may also want to invest in an alignment at your mechanics shop. :) good luck
