Seeing as I just answered your other post -- might make things simpler to keep this all in one thread...

Anyway, it is feasible (by a stretch -- no pun intended) to have that wheelbase under a stock(ish) CJ body...just a little comp cut, pretty much like how your tub already looks to be in the other thread.

But why do you want a wheelbase that long? That would be very easy to high-center on things. I think it would be much, MUCH easier to shorten your donor frame rather than to stretch your tub. I am assuming, by your vehicle description, that it is the dodge frame you want your CJ tub to match.

I'm shortening the frame but I don't want it as short as stock just not as good as a longer base to me as it will be a trail rig..... Over posting is apologized I noticed it was in wrong category

And the stock cj frame don't look to be worth a damn

Is there a drivetrain with that frame? or are you putting the stock cj drivetrain in a dodge frame? That would be...interesting...

I also see you have a CJ5 . You could look up pictures of a CJ6 . They are basically a stretched 5. How's your fabrication skills? Shortening a frame or stretching a body will require some extensive fabrication knowledge.

I'm a beginner of sort I have a shop with availability to just about anything I'll need and it has the drive train on it

Where do you plan to stretch front, middle, or rear?

Plenty of folks have stretched their rigs just need more info on your plan.

:)
I got tired of the short 81" wheelbase in my Old CJ5 and started on a search to find a wrecked or usable CJ6 body that is 20 inches longer.......a wrecked one came along , I extracted the center section out of it restored it and cut my CJ5 up to fit.......my new wheelbase will be about 104".

THAT is a first class job!!:notworthy:

Don't you hate it when your stretching your body, trying to fix your faulty wiper wire and accidently break your blinkers in the process. Man I hate that.

:) am I being a smart alick, Why yea I am.

I've written about this before but I think you might be the first I've seen actually do it. If your Jeep offers you nothing other than looks, why not start with something else like a Ford or in your instance a Dodge. Then adapt a Jeep body to fit the frame of the vehicle you really want. Looks like a Jeep, but in no way actually is a Jeep.

I keep asking myself "Why are there no build threads for these Cjs?"
