I own a 1979 CJ5 and i want to buy new struts and i want the very best but i don't know what to go to and i want the top of the market i was looking at fox 2.0 but i don't know if they will fit help?

:ww: To The Forum!

CJ's don't use struts. They use shocks. Is your vehicle stock? As in stock springs?

Stock leaf springs, get yourself a set of Monroe shocks.

However, I really need to ask: What are your expectations from new shocks?

Fox website doesn't even show shocks for the CJ. They are discriminating against us because we are a minority. Outrage!

It's not discrimination, they are just trying to help you save face. Shocks that cost as much as your tires on a CJ?

Just making fun of the crybullies out rioting because they didn't get their way... Not worried about resale value and stuff like that either. If I can get by with cheap parts, fine. I am not rich, so I always try to save when I can, but it don't bother me to drop more money for something useful if I get my enjoyment out of it. I had Fox on my 99 Super Duty and they really made a difference in how bouncy it was, so I was went to look them up to see what they run for a CJ. I've got several mangled up discs in my back and neck and need a smooth ride.

I would like to do a coilover swap in the future if I can swing it, but that is way above buying expensive shocks, both in price, and in that it's not something I can do on my own with my very poor welding skills.

What is a good adjustable shock for a CJ5 with a SOA?

If you are looking for an adjustable type shock, I would say a Rancho RS9000 and set it to the softest setting. Rancho is not a cheap shock though.

:ww: :dbanana:

Get the 'softest' shocks you can find-Trust us on this. ;)
I run the cheapest Monroe's I can find and they work great.
PLEASE fill out your vehicle info, so we know what all you're run'n.
