Stuck Temp Gauge

Hey!

So my temp gauge is pegged at a single spot. It doesn't even move when I turn off the engine, and take the key from the ignition.

My mechanic said the gauge must be busted. I was about to buy a new one, but I wanted to get a second opinion.

I would remove the wires from it first to see if that makes a difference.

So I just disconnected the wires, and it's still stuck in the same position. I even tapped on it, like i'm World War II bomber pilot, but still nothing.

Looks like i'm buying a new gauge.
