Well, with all the
I have bought for my CJ lately I forgot the four (4) frame bushing for the shackles.
Anyone have any suggestions for ones they have purchased and liked? I'm thinking the greasable ones from Warrior. It's a 72'.
Ideas, thoughts, suggestions, likes, dislikes?
First off, 'Greaseable' bushings are just an 1/8" drill and grease Zerk away on the frame mounts...
Drill a hole in the frame mount, right through the bushing, and push in or thread in a grease zerk...
(Just like the Military and Farm Equipment have been doing for the last 100 years!)
Paying for bolts that have been drilled and weakened is a rip off on the front and rear frame 'Eyes'...

In my opinion...
It would depend on what you intend to do with the vehicle.
Big, Soggy Urethane bushings make for some unsteady highway driving, and down right terrifying 'Un-commanded' lane changes at interstate speeds!
Don't forget the lag time when you turn the wheel, and it takes a second or two for the axles to move enough to compress the bushings and move the body...
And the Yaw you experience on the other side when the axles top moving, and the body goes over center then rebounds with every serious steering input...
They really help absorb jolts and jostles when off roading, and allow the springs to 'Off Set' under the vehicle when on angled obstacles.
I'm not running 'Full Size' (width) axles, so I try and keep my axles somewhat centered under the little Jeep,
And I prefer it to stay in it's own lane when on the highway...
(I'm not suicidal enough to drive it on the interstate!)
SO,
I use factory style, metal sleeved, hard rubber bushings instead of Urethane or some other soggy bushing material.

In my 'Dedicated' Off Roader (Read, NOT street legal and couldn't do 75 if you dropped it off a cliff!),
Which DOES HAVE full size axles under it so the tires don't rub when the bushings let the axle do strange things...
I use the soggiest bushings I can find!
They REALLY take a bunch of the 'Rattle' out of the suspension when on rock roads, or washboards, stuff like that...
