So while under the '66 CJ6 I found the e brake cable tucked into a hole in the frame (a hole that is suppose to be there). The Transmission has been replace with. GM SM420, Transfer Case is a Dana 18, I think, have not identified it absolutely yet.

So being new to the whole Jeep thing what would any of the experts here recommend I do about an e brake?

:)There should be an e-brake backing plate on the back of the dana-18 TC.....Its about a 7 inch drum brake that hooks to the cable and goes to the old style hand operated pull mounted to the underside of your dash on the left side............they work quite well.........if you need parts or one rebuilt Herm the Overdrive guy has them.

I concur, call herm he will have the parts

On the output shaft? Nothing there, tranny and look to have been replaced together.

That kit from herm looks like the way to go.

Thanks.
