So, installing a lift kit among other things. Finished the front, now focusing on the rear. Jacked up the rear today, removed the wheels and drums to find oil/grease scattered everywhere. So I figured oil seal bad. so I start to remove brake assembly and such and find the axle has a sticker that reads "superior axles and gear". This is the first time I've been in the rear since I bought it in January - just assumed it had stock two piece axles.

Question is, did Superior make replacement two piece axles or are these one piece upgrades? And are they decent? Was thinking before this about upgrading to Moser - now I'm not sure...comments?

They were one of a few companies who made one piece replacement axles, if you don't have a big nut on the end, you have one piece axles. They were one of the go to companies back in the day. I believe from what I have read they used Set 9 bearings so you should be able to get parts.

Mucho Gracias - much appreciated. I did a search and figured out that they were either bought out or went out of business. What about the seals they used? How could I cross reference those?

My axles are G2s and use Set 9 bearings and the seals are 7689s for the inner and 8549s for the outters, so I would imagine the seals would be the same for your axles. LG maybe able to help out since he is very knowledgeable on differentials.

If you can-Look on the bearings for PN's.
You may well want to get a set of Moser axles, and an extra set of seals and bearings.

This just made me go look at my Moser bearing & seal kit I have in the spare parts kit, already had it 4 years. A sealed bearing, guess I need to change them out sometime in the future

Make sure your axle's vent line is clear.
