Hi,
Can anyone tell me what the Spring Configuration on a Stock 1970 CJ5 with a 225 Dauntelous V6 is.... 7/5 9/7 Front and Rear mine has way to stiff probably 12/10 want to put back stock !

For that old of a vehicle, you might have to refer to a custom spring maker like
Alcan, who is located in Grand Junction.

You may have the optional H D springs. They where about twelve leaf and not that uncommon. Can't help on the stock springs but I think a after market lift with the least amount of lift would help. The suggestion to seek out a spring company is a good lead.We have a company in Portland,Or. that can make originals,so some others probably could fix you up as well.
They may have records of the OEM springs. Good luck, mike

Try generalspring.com they have a really nice site goes by year make and model and then lists the springs that they came with or they can make plus measurements like eye to eye, eye to pin from both ends, leaf count and capacity. Really helpfully when im trying to ruin a perfectly good suspension.

The early CJ spring packs were offered in the front from 7 leafs to 12, and the rear from 5 to 13 depending on the order.

My 71 had the HD 12/13 stock pack felt every small bump on the road. Swapped to a 2.5 BDS springs a huge improvement in ride.

You could remove a few leafs as well.
