Recently purchased a 1979 CJ7 and found that I am missing the passenger side sway bar frame bracket (don't know if its actually called that) - I have searched high and low but unable to find it.

Any ideas where to get a replacement bracket seen in this picture.

Welcome-see we are neighbors. :chug:
I'm near 10 St West and Elizabeth Lk Rd.
FWIW: I haven't run a sway-bar in 30 years on my Jeep.
With a lift and the OEM down-links, that bar is working against you.

I very strongly urge you to buy a real factory shop manual.
Jeep Service Manuals
The common Haynes & Chilton manuals are lacking in detail and have more than a few errors in it.
Any issue with passing our SMOG tests?

Parts manual shows it used on Wranglers as well.
Look for 1978 and later CJs and Wrangler models.

I would not drive it with only 1 bracket in place.
Pull the s'bar out till you find a bracket.

Welcome to the site...Since you're in the neighborhood, there's a local guy that runs a jeep boneyard out this way...you can pick that part up from pretty cheaply I'm sure.

I can PM you his number if you'd like. He's also parting out jeeps on craigslist all the time and always has an ad up, so you can find him there as well. His name is Tommy.

One of these days us Mojave cats gotta get together for a beer or some such. :chug:

You can pull the bracket off for now to be able to drive it. Junk yard would be the only place to find one. Try locally, if you can't find one, try Collins Brothers in Texas.
