Has anyone replaced swaybar link pins with anything other than an oem pin? Both of my pins are shot and I was just looking for a cheaper option than buying 2 more for $12 each from Morris. I was thinking about a grade 8 bolt and a fender washer.

I have no clue except that I would assume with the hole in the bottom, it may be intended to not be "tightened" fully and retained with a pin etc.

Maybe a castle nut and bailing wire could work?

Again, I really have no idea, just thinking out loud...

I plan on throwing a cotter pin type of thing through there so I have disconnectable endlinks....

Swaybar link pins have a taper fit into the ends of the swaybar, so a standard bolt will not work. I've bought aftermarket pins and found they fit poorly into the tapered holes in the swaybar. I suggest buying a salvaged swaybar with the links already installed.

Thanks, I actually sucked it up and purchased a new one from morris and re-tapped the other one I had. You were right about the taper. I noticed a few days ago when I re-tapped the pin.
