are there any hidden surprises? EX: ground wires from the body to the frame?

The parking brake, also check your fuel line is not braced up to it...

I'd just scoot under in on a creeper and look around a ways before popping it off. I assume you'll have some help, so maybe once up a little ways, take a peak that everything clearing, and no hang-ups..

I think it would have been done already but... fuel filler neck, brake lines from master cylinder, shift linkage, e-brake, that pesky fuel level sender wire.. If you have a manual Transmission and plan of using the 4 people and beer method of removing it I would recommend removing your shifter from both the T/C and the Transmission or else it gets a little crazy trying to manipulate the tub around it. Oh.. Speedo cable and throttle linkage.
