TFI Conversion

1979 AMC 258 i6 / 4.2l CJ5 conversion to TFI ignition? Do I keep the same Motorcraft Module that's attached to the inner driver side fender, or is there an upgrade?

Distributor cap, rotor, base (this distributor is a two piece type, with a base that mounts to the motor and a cap that clips to the base), spark plug wires, and ignition coil. All these parts are from a 1982 Ford F-AMC 150 Pick Up Truck With A 300 CID I-6 Engine
OPTIONAL : Distributor centrifugal advance springs, these get installed in the distributor and give you more midrange pickup.

MSD 6AL makes for a great replacement for any stock ignition, but in this upgrade you keep the stock ICU

You can also use a HEI distributor

Ya my conversion to HEI was pretty simple and easy I like having everything in the cap of the distributor and only one wire powering it

I still like the MSD 6al the best
