For picking up my new to me CJ yesterday.

Two years ago at the CJ.com Colorado trail ride I hitched a ride with others, last year I rented, this year I thought I'd buy a Jeep from CO if I could find something that interested me, and if the logistics could be worked out.

I talked to Bill about possibly buying a CJ and without hesitation he offered to pick it up AND store it at his shop until the trail ride in August.

I found, a stock 68 CJ5 , V6, warn OD, Belleview/Warn winch. Has a repaint with some chipping, dent in the front fender, seats have seen better days, 29” tires, and rust free floors and tool box at a price I liked. Nothing special, but I like it.

Bill and Carol traveled several hours to pick it up, the PO were kind enough to drive 90 mins east to meet them.

Couple things I've noticed about folks from CO. 1) Their friendly, 2) they like diamond plate.

I won't post pics now, but I'm sure there will be plenty of pics from the Colorado Trail Ride in August.

The Jeep will be coming home after the trail run where I will remove the diamond plate, fill the holes, remove the roll bar, remount the spare tire to its original side mount, and shoot the original Spruce Tip Green = grocery getter.

Ok so no squirrel powered yellow Tj this time but a 29 in tired CJ5 ? Just getting off the plane and hitting the trails huh? That's Cajones my friend.

The yellow submarine had 29" bald street tires This CJ has it's own tire challenges, the rears are studded, should make for some sparks flying climbing rocks. I should get some really good traction with metal on rock.

I'll arrive a couple days early to dump all fluids, lube, and a complete tune-up. I'll evaluate the tires at that time however, I kind of like the small, bald, street tire challenge, now I have studs.

I tried that challenge once and fortunately I had a spare, so good luck with that.

I don't think so in Posi's case. I have looked his Jeep over pretty carefully and just don't see any evidence of cancer. I think the PO's just like the "pretty" that traffic plate offers. Or maybe they are trying to hide some of a bad paint job. There is plenty of that on it. :grinjeep:

Thanks for looking it over Bill. After viewing pics from the PO of the under seat tool box floor, and passenger compartment floors the sheet metal looked solid. I'm glad you were able to confirm this as well.
