84 CJ7 with pro comp 4" lift and AMC 304 v8. It rides terrible and was wondering what tire pressure i should run? right now I have 31x12.50 r15. This will be 95% in town 5% highway. Thanks.

31x10,50's around town 25psi, now I'm running 33x12.50's at 20psi around town, 25 highway, 8-10psi Offroad.

Also disregard manufacturers recommendation for pressure. CJ's are much lighter than other trucks.

Im kicking myself in the head for not being a member here, and jumping on the procomp system blindly :censored: so now I am trying to begin the process of elimination on everything I can that can be adding to my absolutely horrific ride. any other tips would be greatly appreciated.

It doesn't matter what spring you're running if you've got 35pounds of air in your tires. You'll feel every pebble on the road.

Two weeks ago took off No. 4 of 5 spring leaves from rear pack, 1 being the top longest leaf. HUGE improvement in ride. Back seat PAX say it rides better than the Honda Element my sweetheart drives. I run 20-22 PSI in 35X12.50 luggers. No significant squat in the rear under acceleration or when pulling a trailer.

Recommend it as the best fix for rough ride.

After doing some searching I read that you should be able to see the shackles move when the jeep is manually bounced up and down and if not the shackle bolts are too tight?
1) I cant manually bounce the jeep (Im 200+ lbs)
2) they definitely don't seem to EVER move

Can this also be an issue? Any tips how to correct it? For what its worth they are brand new HD grease-able shackles.

True the shackles have to be able to swing. I use nylock nuts on mine and just snug them up.

I just installed HD shackels on my 1980. It is only a rolling chassis at the moment, but when I put my size 13's on the frame (with a rag covering my highly coveted paint job), they move. A lot. (I dont have shocks on yet...)

They came with lock nuts, but not the nylock type. I like to have never gotten them threaded all the way down to snug and I'm a pretty good sized fella! Should have went and got some nylocks...:chug:
