Wondering about pavement tire pressures...
33x15’s on pavement, below 50mph. Trying to get a bit of a better ride (if there is such a thing with rough country suspension and lift).

Thoughts?

My BFG's are 24-25psi, front and rear on 8" wide rims.
OP-What's the width of your rims?
LG

23 - 25 most of the time

Someone here suggested the cheap Monroe shocks instead of the heavy duty ones those lift kits come with. Might add that to your list.

Way better ride when you drop that psi down a bit.

Colder got me to drop down to 25psi on mine..... I think i will opt you guys and drop to 20psi in the morning...... it did make a difference from the brick hard ride at 30

So, if I am reading this thread right optimum pressure for tires is somewhere between 20-30 PSI? I am running 32PSI on my 30x8s. Will dropping it really make a huge difference in ride?

Don't take anyone's word. Give it a shot and report back !

so i was cautious about lowering my air pressure because it can cause un even wear on the tire, the ideal pressure is whatever it takes for the tire to make flat contact all the way across the tire

to much pressure you wear out the center to little pressure you wear out the outer edges from the tire buckling

load ranges also play a factor in the stiffness of your ride

my Goodyears are load range D which is rated to carry 2650 pounds a tire and i just weighed my Jeep two days ago and my whole Jeep is only 4050 pounds

I believe that is a good contributing factor to the stiffness of my ride, i did not get to it this morning but i am going to try and lower my tire pressure down to 20 psi today and see how it goes

a tip i got from Hotrod magazine years ago is to paint your tire tread and then roll your vehicle to get the tire to paint the floor so that you can get a look at how your tire contacts the ground so you can adjust your tire pressure from there to achieve a good contact patch

33's on 8" rims-I would not run less the 22psi on the street.

Why is that Lumpy? We drove 2 days with 10psi in moab on the steet. Mind you never went over 40 mph.

FYI, factory specs per weight 22psi, 28psi highway.
I run 20psi and 30psi when I do a straight run on the highway similar to when I do the Colorado Springs to Moab trip.

I have 315/70R17s with I think 8 inch rims which puts me at 34.5

At 10psi you had some squirrely handing I'll bet on the street....
I just found that my 7 handles a bit better with no less than 22psi in my tires.

that's another one of my concerns, the lower the air pressure the more sidewall flex
