Hey tire experts!

I have 5x 33 x 12.50 x 15 BFG MT's

One has never touched the ground, the other four were used for the trail 90% of the time and have to be about 90-95% left.

The catch is they are about 9 years old...and spent the last 5 years on jack stands with little to no air in them.

They look great but what is the shelf life of these tires?

Thanks for your help!

I'll give you $200 and shipping.:D

As long as they were not out in the sun I would say you were ok. Can you see any sign of dry rot? air them up and look for cracks.

I agree. I would go one step further though. After you air up the tires, take an el-cheapo paint brush and some water with a lot of dish soap in it and paint on the water/soap mixture.

That'll show you if you've got any leaks anywhere. :chug:

Thanks boys, they have been indoors, in my dads barn on concrete...I think he pulled it out periodically to get it out of the way for a while but they all look really good. I will do the paint brush idea.

They are not holding air after a few days but I think that has to do with wheel damage from wheeling, I think I will pull them and see what the inside look like too

I would resist tossing $1000 worth of tires until I was sure.

Look down near the edge that seats up against the wheel. There should be an oval shaped symbol with a four digit code stamped in it. Those numbers tell you when the tires were made. With that being said, if I aired 'em up and no cracking or seeping was noticed (do a soapy water check) I'd run 'em.

Yup checked they were made in 03.

Will do the soap check this weekend
