Greetings,

I have a 85 CJ that I put a 4" lift on, I am trying to figure out what size tire to put on it? Using a tape measure it looks like I could fit a 35" under it, but that doesn't factor in any suspension travel, although the new springs feel like there is no travel LOL. The manufacture says only good for a 33" tires with the lift.

Thanks in advance

Justin

33's will fit great. 35's you may have to trim the fenders for.

They built the kit so they should know best.

As brock said go with 12.5 at the most.

Thanks guy's for the responses, I can go with a 12.5 and it won't rub? Thats great I was thinking I could on'y go with a 10.5 and I was really concerned with the looks, I like a wider tire.

Thanks again

I have a 83 with a 4" lift and what amounts to a 1" body lift (fiberglass body) with 33x12.5x15 with no rubbing problems so you should be ok.

Thanks Old Dog, I checked out your pic's, thats a nice jeep you have. after looking at your pics I went ahead and ordered my tires, went with the Super Swamper TSL read some decent reviews on them and I think they will be a decent tire for what I am looking to do, also the price was attractive. I have an 07 Toyota Tacoma that I have 31x10.5x17 All Terrain T/A's great tire have had many sets over the years almost went with them but wasn't sure on the tread for the sand/mud we have down here so went a little more aggressive tread pattern. I am still pretty new to the mudding/trail thing, back when I was a kid living in Vt. it was burning through corn fields LOL.

Any way thanks again for all your assistance appreciate it

Justin

okay, i have 36s in mine and i didnt have to trim the front at all and the rear hit the body and thus i trimmed up about 2 or 3 inches off of the fender. so if you are scared to take the blade to your rig dont go more than 33s. Just to give you more reason...
