So I haven’t been on in a while. And really haven’t had much time to work on the Jeep. (Crazy work schedule and an internship). Well anyway enough whining. I have both my Transmission and Transfer Case out of my Jeep. (Need to replace the flywheel). I’ve only driven the Jeep once and that was only a couple of miles to get her to my house. So my dilemma is....do I just reseal both of them or should I rebuild them both. Money is REALLY tight right now and resealing would obviously be the cheaper of the two. I noticed no problems during the ride but just wanna see what all you guys would do. Thanks !!

Open them up inspect them real good and rebuild if you see that they need it would be my advice, I would used to say rebuild it but now I lean towards whatever is faster to get them back on the road

I always say if it's not broke don't fix it.

Another vote for open them up, inspect, and just re seal if you don't have any issues. I would also check the input and output shafts for play.

What everyone else says. Take a look at em and see. If they seem tight and no metal.. run them. I run into Dilemmas like that all the time. If it's out I should rebuild it. But that turns into months later and I end up kicking myself. Lol
