when i just crawl my steering wheel is straight. as soon as i get any kind of speed my steering wheel almost goes a 1/4 of a turn to the left. would a toe in or toe out problem cause this?

Sooo when your going down the road and let go of the wheel does it pull off to side of the road or does it drive straight only with the steering wheel offset?

it pulls alittle but not much.

its pulling the same way. i had this problem for awhile but had other projects going on that im done with now. about a year ago i put new tie rods on and i put them the same length as the old ones. i guess i might need a alignment to fix it. i was trying to hold off till i got tires but now its bugging me for some reason.

Dalefan this is how I set my toe in.
Jack up the Jeep and make a wide chalk mark all the way around both tires, (sidewalk chalk works good) now take a nail and rest it on something solid so you can scribe a good straight line around both the tires. Now measure from line to line (get someone to help) the front should be 1/8" less than in the back.

ya and he did it with a screwdriver and hammer.

before you adjust your steering check all steering components. Check the tie rod ends by pulling on them and looking for free play. Jack up the front end and lift on the front wheel. This will check for free play at the ball joints or wheel bearings.
