There is some good info in this months JP Magazine on Transfer Case ID, and models in what vehicles used. Also an article on rebuilding a quadra-trac Transfer Case . An article on adding an over drive on a Spicer 18 .

That's an issue worth saving! I got my issue in the mail yesterday.

September issue was another good one. It had a similar article about axles.

Yep glad this issue showed up, as I have a QT in my '79 CJ7 . This of course led to a number of other questions. One that came to mind is, has anyone upgraded there GM Turbo 400 3spd to a GM 700R4 4 spd? If so, I was curious how was the adaptability to the QT and the AMCV8 (AMC 304 )?

To mate the 700R4 to the AMC 304 get Novak kit 437AMC-2 Adapting AMC I6 & V8 Engines to GM Automatic Transmissions
I am not sure about adapting that auto to your QT. Check out this link The GM TH700R4 & 4L60E Transmission - Novak Conversions or call Novak.

Also your question may get lost in a thread about JP Magazine. Start your own thread to pull info from other members.

BTW where's Mittenland? Wisconsin?

Yeah, I will probably start a thread. It's strictly a prelim type question, just testing the waters for past experience.

I was looking at Novak and they mention the Dana and New Process T-Cases, but not the QT, so that's why I asked.

Mittenland, would be Michigan.
