Hey guys, I need help figuring out what Transmission is in my jeep and decide if I need a stronger one. It is a 4 speed with reverse in the top left position. you have to push down and toward 1st. It has ford stamped on the top. It has a curved shifter and no fluid drain plug. Any ideas?

Not really. Some similarities. The reverse in this one is on the passenger side of the H and mine is on the drivers side. Also my shift handle is curved and does not have the hard angles.

It has the shift pattern of an SR4 , but I'm not sure they came stock in an 84....been wrong before though.

Post pics of the sides and top of the Transmission along with any ID numbers.
Cast iron or cast aluminum?
What is the overall length?
Is first gear synchronized?

Going with the ford stamp, and without knowing the above info I'd guess a mustang 2 SR4
