Im in the process of replacing my rear axle and Im having trouble with the rear bolt on the spring bracket. Ive heated the bushing and it has some slack but Im not sure if/how the back bolt is removed.

I sounds like you are talking about removing the bolt on the spring shackle side. I would suggest a pin punch to tap it out. It will probably need replacing, there are some good aftermarket heavy duty spring shackles to replace it with.

Get out your torch if you have one and burn that bushing out. Going to stink but its the easiest way if it is seized at all.

The problem may be binding on the bolts and bushings. Jack up the rear end. If both rear tires are off the ground the weight of the axle may be working against you. It would be best if rear tires are touching the ground only with as much force as the weight of the rear axle. Maybe your rear tires are off but my point is to minimize the force on the bolts. Even then the old bushings may be griping the bolts. You can use a torch but be careful. The gas tank is right there.

take a sawsall to them, you are going to need new ones anyway.
