Well I have decided to try to kick the habit. I think it will be the most expensive decision I have ever made!!!! When all said and done I think I will be divorced, unemployed, and homeless.... I am one miserable SOB right now :mad:

I just quit a few months back. did it with the welbutrin pill. it helped with keeping the jerk factor to a minimum. once I put em down for good the best thing for me was always thinking "they taste/smell like s#*!." Good luck, you can do it:chug:. Spend the money you save on flowers for the misses, a day out with kids or put it in the bank like we are. We opened up a new savings account and have direct deposit for $25 every two weeks from both the wife and I.

for me smoking was something to do when I didn't want to do anything, an excuse to take a break, think, consider options and something to do when I had to wait for something else to happen.
I found that when I wanted to smoke If I just found something else to do I was very easily distracted and could get over it pretty easy.
I can promise you one thing for sure. You will like not smoking a lot more than you like smoking.

The wife quit cold turkey 7 months ago and let me tell you she was a 2 pack a day smoker. So if she can do it you can also, Just keep thinking about how much more Jeep money you'll have by quitting :D. Oh and find a good shoot em up game to release the inner demons.

Smoked about a pack and a half daily till a year and a half ago. I quit cold turkey. I had my kids nagging me about it to keep me straight. You have to "want" to. I do feel alot better now , but it took a little to notice. Now if I could just shed a few pounds as easily...

Thanks for all the advice and encouragement :chug: Definately a BITCH LOL I have been chewing the Nicorette gum, trying to not chew it all the time just when the Jerk factor gets a little out of control :D Thing that sucks is all the colateral damage. Coffee in the morning GONE tried to have one yesterday and I wanted to smoke more then anything. BEER:mad: same thing I am going to be a friggen saint when it's all said and done LOL

Beer I remember when I quit 20 something years ago that was when I went friggen nuts. when I had a beer natural to have a smoke also but now I can't stand them.

I tried and failed.

Its hard. I locked myself in my room the first day. When I came out, I was screaming at everyone. I was told to leave the house and not to come back without smoking a couple first.

Good luck.

Well Day 3 in the books, the wife hasn't talked to me in two days LOL Chewing the hell out of the Nicorette and I think I have gained 5lbs. Can't concentrate on :dung: to damn fidgity

I'm not going to say it was easy when I quit, but like all things, when you hit bottom it becomes easier. I smoked 2-3 packs a day, but I finally got fed up with the coughing and hacking , not to mention the leftist socialist in gov raised the price to over $2 per pack. I mostly quit cause I was tired of hacking up crud. I seem to be one of the weird reform smokers, I like the smell of someone else lighting up. Been about 15 yrs now since I quit, best choice I could've made, leaves more money to buy beer . Good luck on your journey :chug:

Now how did you not quit with that king of support

I came out of the room ready to kill. Evil had filled my eyes. It was dinner time and I didnt care if they stared or fell off the Earth. I was a witch.

I am proud of you!

Loose the gum it's just another form of nicotine. Baking soda and water flushes the nicotine from your system faster, drink two of three times a day (yuck). When it is gone all you have is a mental addiction left. Hang in there.

As Yoda said to Luke “No try, do or not do”.

The two most self righteous people in society are a whore in church and a reformed smoker. I used to smoke.

Thanks for the advice IO, But I am not to sure on the baking soda thing that just sounds bad LOL. I agree on the gum which is why I am not using it all day, today I only had one piece and that was due to the <-BAD WORD-> hole factor getting out of control LOL But trying to white knuckle it  Today will be day 4 in the books

I am waiting for those easier days :mad: LOL Noticed today that what kills me is the time riding from call to call in the van, idle time that I used to smoke like a chimney. If I stay busy I am OK :D

Like I said it's something to do when you have nothing to do.

my hardest time was trouble shooting control problems.:bang:

Stop being a wuss. Suck it up. :D That being said I quit a long time ago as I stated before. You just need to get through the first month. Then when the urges come along once in a while you say "Am I gonna waste that month of :dung: and have to start over again a few weeks later"? It'll get better bud , stick in there. Youll be glad you did in the end!

Stay Strong!!! Your on the right path!!

Well the wife has managed to show her support in my quiting by being an absolute B$%&* and arguing about everything...... Just about went to the store and bought a pack :mad::mad: She just has to sit there and push buttons

Re read the last few words of my last post. :D Hang in there. Things will subside after time. Dont give her the satisfaction of seeing you fail. :D
