So it's obvious there's a ton of post online about people going back and forth over putting twin shifter in the Dana 20 , why it's a bad idea or why it's a good idea...So I came really close to buying them until I read way to many threads from other forums.

Someone please explain on how this would benefit me. I'm almost positive that I already have 4WD H 4WD L N 2WD H 2WD L but i'm not all that sure. Anyways i'd just like opinions from users of the Dana 20 twin shifts.

+ although I should be well educated about all this i'm still not.....eh

Thank you :chug:

Also I found a Dana 300 Transfer Case for $300 supposedly it's in great condition would this be worth the swap? and i've heard the T-14 Transmission . are not all that great?

By putting twin sticks on, it allows you to do front diggs, or run just the front axle to get home. The other thing I was having trouble with the single shifter was the movement forward or to the rear is so much it was hitting the floor pan and pooping out of gear. The twin sticks movement is half of the single lever. You also eliminate all the linkages. You gain the ability to run the front axle by itself and you gain 2 wd low.

I think Purple77CJ7 answered your question about the twin stick. They're nice but not a must have.

As for the Dana 300 , that's not an easy swap.

The Dana 20 expects the to have a big gear on the output shaft of the tranny. This whole gear fits into the Dana 20 .

On the other hand the Dana 300 only needs the output shaft of the tranny to fit into a smaller hole to drive the Dana 300 .

Dana 300
Both transfer cases are excellent strong, gear driven cases. The Dana 300 has a lower low but it's not worth getting an adapter. Then you would also need the lengths of the drive shafts modified.

Ok so before I order this I want to be absolutely positive that I have the Dana 20 . How can I be 100% positive this is what I have I know theres #'s on the front of it that I can kind of read.

In many regard these 2 transfer cases look alike but the easiest way to make sure is to look at how the shift lever is attached.
On the Dana 20 there is a tubular bar extending out the front of the TCase. The shift lever is attached to this. This next pic is of a Dana 20 . It already has a twin shift but the tubular bar is how you know for sure it's a Dana 20 .

Here's another Dana 20

Compare those to the Dana 300 shift linkage.

khass0410, if you haven't already purchased a twin stick yet, look into JB Custom Fabrication, they make a great product and are reasonably priced ;)

Those 2 square head bolts in the lower left hold on the tubular support for the shift.

Lol, i'm trying i'm trying...and will do oh btw I posted more pics. :D

Khass0410, I used Don's Twin Stix, which is now sold by Novak Conversions. And at the same time I did the twin six I also installed the Tera low gear set, so it has 3.15 low range. You have to tear the case apart to install, so I did both at the same time. To me both are worth the effort. I have not had any issues.

Only if I had that kind of money lol. I saw that gear set on sam4x4 and liked it but maybe for the future for me.

Thank You :chug:

Anyone see anything is these pics that I will need to reuse while putting the new shifters in I have the old one off. Also Is there suppose to be something around this shifter seems to be leaking grease maybe a rubber?

Thanks :chug:
