Two Weeks In A JK
We survived!
Since this years JK Experience kicked off in the Rocky Mountain state of Colorado I had a long haul to get there from North Carolina. Normally I would use my Cummins powered Dodge Ram to tow my rig, but this year I decided to drive it. Sure, towing would have made it easier and provided me with a fail safe just in case, but I simply wanted to drive it.
Besides, it's a 2008 Jeep Rubicon. It has plenty of creature comforts and regardless of what all the "critics" say about the 3.8L, it can still get the job done both on and off road. The trip there and back was an absolute blast and we managed to make it without and major issues. Our post trip inspection did uncover that the factory ball-joints are shot, so we have an upgrade in the works. This was my 3rd JK-X trip and hopefully won't be my last!
