I'm going to this winter. Probably fab my own. Any lessons learned? How did you handle the passenger front odd ball? Thanks!

I did it to my rear axle. I fabricated a top plate out of the bottom plate. Nothing fancy. I just welded some rod, maybe 1/2 or 9/16, just inside the bolt holes for a saddle. It works fine. I haven't attempted the front yet.

That's my plan as well. Did you make any type of plate for underneath the springs to locate the ubolts?

Merry Christmas CM!

:)

Two different sized U-bolts on the front housing side........your top plate will need to be stepped to set flat. I normally use 1/2" steel plate and normally go to a 9/16" dia. U-bolt.................Yes on the bottom plate located by the center bolt to keep the U-bolts in position...........the front / rear edge of the plate needs to be tapered and also relieved where the U-bolts wrap around.

And Merry Christmas

I didn't make a plate. I made sure that the U bolts were where I wanted them when I tightened them up and they haven't moved in the two years that it has been done. And you know that I've dragged them over some rocks.
