Last Sunday night Vicki broke her leg and dislocated her ankle on the basement steps. :( Please remember to be careful around steps. It s something we all take for granted. She now has a nice purple cast on but heres some pics of the carnage:

Yikes, I know about the pain from breaking bones, tough break. Make sure she doesn't kick you with that cast. What about getting that cut sewn up? I would love to see a pic of that cast with a Jeep-CJ.com sticker on it!

Steps? - Yeah, when the boys were young I was carrying my youngest down the stairs and I slipped, stepped between the stairs, broke the long bone in my foot (heard it snap!) and fell down the stairs head first with my son in my arms....I tried to protect him during the fall, and he was OK, but I was hurting and vocal about it. And I could see back then...Steps can be a problem!
 
Hope she gets healed up before spring camping season.

Thats more of a really bad scrape than a cut. Nothing to sew. They put a bunch of antibiotics and taped that area before the cast went on.If someone can find me a Jeep Cj.com sticker Im sure shed wear it. :D

I hope so too. I am not good at playing Mr. Mom. Im trying and also appreciating all the things she does when Im at work a little more than I have recently. :o

She didnt hear the break but heard the "pop" that was the dislocation. I wanted her to go to the hospital right away. Somehow she decided to sleep for 5 hours with it like that! Higher threshold for pain than me I guess. We also learned that vomiting and shaking are the first signs your body has gone into shock. Im not a Dr. either. :o

This was brought up immediately believe it or not , and not by me. Thank god its not Spring was muttered. :D


All in all she's a trooper and will get through it. I call her Patient zero and tell her only one of us will survive this since shes drives me nuts now. Shes already injured so I have the upper hand. :rolleyes:
 
Well now we're both on crutches. :( not sure what I did to my knee but I ll find out Monday

Clutch leg? A few years ago I had a cast on my left leg but still managed to drive my CJ for the 12 weeks. Took a day or so to get the hang of the clutch with a cast.

Sorry to hear Pete. I hope it is nothing serious.

The Cj is an automatic but it doesn't matter, there's no way I'd be getting in and out of it anyway. It was hard enough driving the Sable. :o

Sorry to hear about these mishaps Pete. Sounds like a pair of "Hurri-canes" should be added to Santa's list. ;)
 
Sorry to hear about this...Hope you get some encouraging news on Monday...My better half has been recovering from knee surgery, and hopes to get back to work this week. I hope you both heal quickly!

Sure does. More than a few people got a kick out of it that both of us were on crutches when I went for X-rays today.

Well did you find out anything yet? Mriplaybass got his OK to go back to work today..and he left in the middle of a snowstorm...Snow has got to be a problem for you two getting around..Keep us posted..:)

Today I got a total of 9 different X-rays. 3 each of both feet and my knee. The Knee is the real issue right now. It is a little better and I'm riding the fine line of staying off it and keeping it loose. The Dr will read my X-rays tommorow but I think I'll still be going for an MRI . Didn't really get much information today
 
All I can say now is it doesn't look like something that's going to heal itself. After playing the jump through hoops benefits game I have an MRI set up for Wednesday.
 
No tears was the good news. Tendinitis and bursitis. Came back to work today limping through it. :) So far so good.
