Long, long ago, in what seems like a different galaxy, a then young and naive feature editor, Verne Simons, drug his ’49 CJ3a (bought in 1999) from North Carolina to Los Angeles with a little help from then-Editor John Cappa (“Timing, timing, timing,” May ’01).
