Wanna buy new seats but which ones are the best?
right now I have a pair from something called a "99 TJ" ,I know there are no real jeeps called a TJ  these are there because of the "DSPO" he's a big :censored::censored::censored: ! (sorry, just needed to vent again)

I'm looking for quality not some fancy racing bucket that wont fit my big butt.

I just dont want to spend all of my cash to get a pair of new seats that dont fit right or break in a week.

I really appreciate all of the input.

Stay away from Rugged Ridge had 2 sets both bad.Chinese customer service but what isn't now a days.Best thing is go sit in them if you have a Store near you. You'll be glad you did.

Bestop makes some that start around AMC 150 bucks. You'd have to buy the hinging brackets that makes the WHOLE seat move forward because for that price the seat back doesn't. Just a one piece rigid seat. (They do make more expensive seats with reclining backs .) Still pretty cheap overall and easy access to the back seat. I have the this type on mine and they're comfortable.

I like the bestop but I was not sure of their quality, I kind of figured that the rugged ridge seat are not as well made .
I'm not looking o save a buck on seats, If I have to spend $250 + per seat thats OK as long as I get quality. I plan on spending a lot of miles in them when I get the Jeep done and I dont want some cheap seat breaking on me when I'm miles up in the hills exploring the country side.

are there any other good brands out there that are made just for Jeeps? (that are worth buying)

thanks for the input, these questions are hard for me to answer myself here on the Oregon coast because there are no dealers anywhere close to me.

If you want to go nuts and spend a boat load of money on seats, look into Corbeau seats or Recarro. For me, the Bestops are great for my needs. My Jeep gets wet, dirty, the dogs get shoved it it, and the sun and weather in general have their way with it every day. The seats I'm replacing now are bestops, and I installed them 14 years ago. The frames are as good as new and their still comfortable, but the vynal is starting to tear in a fwe spots, so I'm just going to bolt new ones in. I would hate to put $400 seats through that treatment and be worried about them all the time.

I think the bestop trailmax are the best for the buck, I got some cheaper seats for my 67 and am not satisfied, but they are the ones I have so I will run them till they are :dung: and then get Traimax's.

Ok I am a little confused.... Is the tj comment a joke?

I have two rampage seats in my cj they ran me about 400 bucks. They aren't as cushy as the stock seats but I find them very comfortable.

I would go and find a good set of used YJ seats, that what I did recenty and I got a great set for $300 dollars Canadian both front and back, they recline and they are very comfortable. They bolted in with no problems or hassles. It's another option instead of buying new.

Just checked the tracking #'s and my interior should be in tomorrow via FedEx.

One of the first things I did with my CJ right after I bought it was replace the seats. I bought the Bestop Trailmax II vinyl seats with the matching fold and tumble rear seat. The brackets lined right up, the seat sliders fit correctly, no having to drill holes, no having to beat on stuff with a hammer to make it fit, nothing. That was more than 4 years ago now. I give them two thumbs up 2thumbsup.webp
