I'm wondering how big a lift I can install without having to make other modifications?

Generally, 2.5" before you start getting in steering/driveshaft issues.

Surely you recall the major ordeal I just went thru on one of mine with a 2” lift! Sorry if you don’t like to be called Shirley.
If lifting is absolutely necessary, do the math, cut off the old perches and weld on new ones to retain the proper caster! Don’t forget to extend your flexible brake lines!
Without the help of Jeepers on this forum I’d still be scratching my head over what the problem was.
I take my Jeeps to strange places and havenever needed extra clearance! It also changes your center of gravity. Something to consider.

Caster can be adjusted with angle shims under the spring perches.;)
Just be sure you use steel shims, and not the POS zinc or alum ones that deform and 'pound' out.
Keep your caster to 6*-7* with correct toe-in for your wheel size.
Camber can be reset with special upper ball joints.
