1985 CJ-7. guess it has an 89 straight 6 with weber crab. Auto trans and transfer case (not sure what but stock [maybe 300 on the transfer]) open diffs. Hard top and doors
First off I'm sorry if this has been post before, but I searched and searched to fine the topic but never found the right one :bang:. Now on to the question....

So last night on my way home a shock rod snapped:(. So now I need to replace. I want to do all 4, get good road ride and spend as little as possible. Would like to keep it under $50 per shock, since cash flow is a little tight right now and at some point in the next yearish I will get the OME, Rusty's, or BDS 2.5 lift kit.:D

But as for now it has a 1 inch shackles and a 1 inch body (which shouldn't be part of the suspension)

I looking to see what shocks you all are running on your Daily Driving Jeep CJ7 ? I know there are a ton of good/great ones out there but I looking more on the cheaper side. Which ones to stay away from, which to buy.

All thoughts are welcome and appreciated.

Since you say you'll be replacing the suspension system in the future I would just buy a replacement shock like the Procomp ES1000 -->> Pro Comp ES1000 Series - Shock Absorbers - Shock Absorbers & Shock Accessories - Lift Kits, Suspensions & Shocks - by 4 Wheel Parts

I just bought some ES3000's for my Scrambler and they work OK. I didn't want to pay a lot for a shock as I don't wheel the CJ8 much. -->> Pro Comp ES3000 Series - Shock Absorbers - Shock Absorbers & Shock Accessories - Lift Kits, Suspensions & Shocks - by 4 Wheel Parts
