I dont suppose anyone has pics of cj visors opened up. I have 2 good pairs I dont wan to take a part but I want to make a few pairs myself as a project.

I was thinking of using some hardboard instead of cardboard and some headliner material but was wondering how the part that goes around the metal holders is done. If you dont have a pic but could describe it to me I might be able to make it.

thanks
Ken

As a suggestion Ken, how about using something that won't be subject to water damage like a plexiglass?

Haven't taken a Jeep one apart but I have had an AMC car one apart. Its basically a chunk of cardboard folded in half and covered with vinyl on the outside and a piece of fabric on the inside. The fold is where the rods go in.

Don't use clear plexi...I hear it doesn't make a good sunvisor.

Hmmm...tinted plexiglass. We might just be onto something here

Yep, tinted plexiglass or lexan would be pretty cool. Good think'n guys.

I like that plexiglass idea. I wonder how to attach it to the rod. Maybe some tubing plastic clamps like I use to mount 3/8's copper line to a wall or joist? Any thoughts?

I have the "frame" to the ones on my windshield frame off yesterday. Didn't think much of it when I read this the other day. I'm going to come up with something shortly for mine hopefully.:D

Shoot me a PM with either your email address or cell number and I can get you a picture. (Gallery here is full or I would post...)
