Need help.
I can't find what this is for.
Silver box @ bottom of picture with connector.
I'm going to be installing a Howell FI System and I realize it's not my ICM.
I need to make sure it doesn't involve or effect the install.
And I can't find it in the books.
Or on other's jeeps.

:dunno:looks odd I dont recognize it either, I looked at my Painless Wire manual from when I rewired my Jeep looks like it could either be a Prestolite ignition control box? or maybe an external alternator regulator for a Motorola alternator? Is there any writing on the box? P/Ns? have you traced where the wires go yet? If it is an external regulator some of the wires off the alt should go directly to it same with it being an ignition control module

It is the ignition control module. Strange thing is that i've never seen one on the pasenger side before. Every one that i've seen is on the drivers side below the radiator over flow and windshield washer bottles.

That was my initial thought but it dosent have the correct motorcraft plugs or the correct color wires

Idle speed control, used with BBD fuel feedback system.

Thanks for the input.
So far...
Not the ignition control module, that is tucked neatly under my radiator overflow.
I don't have a pretolite distributor, I have the motorcraft with the metal vacuum advance.
If it is the idle speed control, will I need to deal with it when I do a Howell FI conversion? And can you explain its function?
I've looked and there are no p/n an any part of it, possibly worn off.
And I will trace the wiring. Why didn't I think of that?
I did try to find it on a schematic but could not.
