I am not really sure if this is the right place for this question but hopefully someone can help me out. I finally got my lift done on my 1979 CJ5 with narrow track axles and got some tires given to me the only problem i am having is the tires rub a bit. I am thinking bout making my own wheel spacers as i am a machinist. My question is does anyone know the ID and OD dia of most spacers i know my bolt pattern is 5x5.5. I am planning on doin the style with the press in studs on the spacer and my regular stud bolt the spacer to the rotor. Any help would be greatly appricated.

Making your own wheel spacers? Sounds kinda scary but if you are machinist and feel confidant.
For the inside diameter Check the diameter of the front hubs. That should be the inside diameter. The rear axle flanges may or may not have a ridge with the same diameter depending on if they are OEM or one piece.
The outside diameter is less important unless its so big it hits the inside of the wheel (unlikely)

I agree with all of what BusaDave9 has said. I would also add to make sure you can source good, quality studs for this task. All you have keeping the rubber on the road are those studs!:chug:

I got grade 8 studs already. Im thinkin of making them billet alum. I have machined engine plates and adapters and i have full excess to cnc mills and lathes. i can do it cheaper than buying ones and the ones i have seen on ebay im not sure off.

Here are 2 pics of the wheel extenders on my '80 CJ7 with 35X12.5 swampers. I'd rather have something stronger, but that idea takes me to a different axle, and I'm not ready yet to go there.

I actually have my spacers off right now for some front axle work. I'll get you dimensions if you still want them.
