I went to our annul Fall Crawl recently.
Arrived Friday and setup camp.
It had rained Friday afternoon and it was brisk Friday and Saturday night.
We sat around the campfire with friends and eating and drinking
I got back to my tent sometime after midnight, slept like a rock.
There were several trail to pick from easy to extreme.
I was leading a group on a Blue and black trail.
I didn't recognized anyone on my group list so I would be meeting them for the first time.
I parked my Jeep in the staging area and let the group fall in behind me.
Turns out everyone that lined up behind me had a newer Jeep, which is ok, but I was hoping for at least one CJ.
One of the first Jeeps I noticed.
Lumpy must have left his white CJ home and brought his 4 door jk on 36" with him.
I introduced myself to Lumpy and chatted a bit.
He asked me what I was wheeling and I told him (pointing at my jeep) that old CJ parked in the front of the line.
He looked it over and said, cool, I should be able to go anyplace that "thing" can go.......
Hmm, I thought to myself, he just doesn't know old Jeeps, this can't be the real Lumpy? Or could it?
Kidding aside he was a good guy like everyone else in my group. He just didn't know old Jeeps.

The first steep climb with ledge and tree roots we had my CJ walked right up without spinning the wheels. All the Jeeps made it up as well but they all got hung up for awhile on a root half way up the climb.
We had another steep hill climb with large loose rocks. I made it to the top but couldn't get over it. It took me about 5 tries before I got up and over. Only 4 other drivers tried and 3 got up and over. The rest used a go around. What made it hard was a 3ft wall at the top of the climb. Just 2 weeks earlier a guy flopped over backwards on his hood taking the same line I took. I had to take that line because I couldn't make it up another way that I tried. I caught some good air.
Like any offroad pics the climbs don't look as steep especially when you take then from the top looking straight down.
This yj gave it a good go but eventually took the go around.
Lumpy below (black jk) heading for the go around.
