Wow, I've had my CJ since May 19th, and I've already spent more on the jeep, than I've spent on her in years:) The other night, I waited til she went to bed, and went shopping at Morris 4x4. I had to close my eyes to click the checkout button. Like having an affair....Well I am, with my CJ...I keep all my receipts in a notebook in my garage, and when she gets that out and starts looking.....It's on...........I know it sounds weird, but I was looking for a CJ for about 3 yrs..........I did'nt have to look for my wife that long.................:notworthy:

Well your in the garage not out in the bars and strip joinnts

Is that what they mean by a little black book. Maybe you should buy her a CJ. It sure is addicting. Just remember CJ's are getting harder and harder to replace , as for the wife ......

Had to divorce my wife. When I did. I found all the money in the world to restore mine. They can waste so much money. Best thing I ever did.

Geese, Boo Hoo Guys…….. I guess I am one of the lucky ones; my wife haunts Craig’s List looking for a good deal on a jeep and when she finds one she tells me to go buy it if there is enough money in the piggy. And if a jeep needs a part to make it go she tells me to buy whatever it needs as a jeep is worthless to her if it don’t run. I first took her jeep’n when she was 17 and she’s been hooked ever since.

Mine found out about how much money I spent on the CJ two years ago...See, I bought mine in 2004, started really modifying it in 2006. She was really, REALLY miffed....And don't think I never hear about it in an argument....

She still likes my Jeep, though. That's the funny thing. A few years ago when we were a little tight on cash, I offered to sell it whole or part it out to get some quick cash...SHE told ME "no, don't you sell it! You've got so much money and time in it by this point, it would be a waste!" Can't argue with that! :chug:

danray48 - is she by chance computer literate enough to find this site and know your handle? Cause you may have already told her!! :pissed:

A few of you guys need to grow a pair!

I'm SO glad that it's not only me feeling like I'm hiding an affair from my wife. Secretive about whatever I buy, secretive about how much gas I load. I still feel guilty, at nights sometimes I just go to sleep wandering, re-prioritizing what needs to be done on the CJ. Never have I put in so much effort, so much money and so much smiles into a car.

Actually, she is real cool about the jeep, she loves it. Since she has nothing to do with the business I own, she dont know what I spend.

Read in an Apocalypse Now accent "you so lucky, me luv you long time"

My wife loves my CJ, but cannot drive it. She is scared of the shift pattern of the 3 speed, and can barely push the clutch, driving it was work, not fun for her. To solve the jealousy factor of driving with the top down, I just bought her a YJ. Sacrilege, I know, but I feel a lot better with her behind the wheel of the 4 cylinder, with the familiar 5 speed and hydraulic clutch. Now on to fixing the issues of our new purchase.
