My Jeep has 2.5" spring conv. in front. Need to replace spring plate due to broken sway bar mount. My existing plates match pics of stock 85' plates. I thought I would need 87' YJ plates for 2.5" spring but the pics of those are different from what I have.

So what part do I actually need?

Can you weld the mount back on?

If you have the shock mount on the axle tube, then 76+ CJ rear spring plates should work. Same axle tube OD on the AMC20 and Dana 30 . The rears are 2.5" wide springs and have the mount for a shock that you should be able to use for the sway bar. May want to check and make sure the sway bar and rear shock mount are the same size.

That makes perfect sense. I think that's what the po did. I was wondering why the holes for the U-bolts were not elongated or anything in the front. I would have never realized that they were just rear spring plates. Thank you!

A good welder, will now what to do.
Might want the welder to reinforce the other one also.
